An Interview with Chris Bibey, from Freelance Framework
Chris Bibey, a freelance writer and content marketing consultant, launched the Freelance Framework newsletter to help writers find opportunities, make more money, and grow their careers. We chatted with him about launching that newsletter, landing new gigs, and his outlook on the freelance job market.
Q. What made you start your newsletter, Freelance Framework?
I sat on the idea for a couple of years, but finally took the leap when I realized there were a lot (A LOT) of writers just like me: those who were struggling to find prospective clients.
Along with that, I couldn’t find a resource that compiled daily opportunities (which is a must with today’s increased competition).
Those two things together led me to launch Freelance Framework in December 2023.
Q. What’s your number one piece of advice for freelancers who are looking for new clients?
Above all else, a daily marketing plan is a must. There’s no replacement for consistency.
For example, freelancers should apply for gigs, conduct cold outreach, and network — every single day of the week. Results may not be immediate, but your efforts compound over time.
Q. What’s your outlook on the freelance job market today?
Competition will remain high in 2025, but I believe (and hope) a growing number of companies will turn to freelance writers to save money and take advantage of their expertise.
With AI, it’s easier than ever to create content. But it’s not always “good” content. More companies will realize this in the months to come and shift their dollars accordingly.
Chris’ primary goal is to help freelance writers find and apply for high-quality opportunities, Monday through Friday. Subscribe to Freelance Framework today to join 9k others — and watch your income grow. 📈
