This week's hottest jobs + community-building prompts.

An ask from me, a couple of offers for you.

For me, fall is always a season for reflection. I’m typically coming out of the hustle and bustle of summer, and while things slow down a bit, I begin looking inward and planning for what’s next.

In these moments of stillness and introspection, one topic tends to come to mind: community. Community is vital for all people, but as a freelancer, solopreneur, or small business owner, it’s all the more important.

When you work (mostly) solo, having the right people in your corner makes all the difference. They can support you practically — brainstorming ideas, promoting your work, etc. — and emotionally, showing up when you’re low on motivation or confidence and most in need of the buoying energy of connection. Community has truly been one of the most important factors for me as I’ve built my businesses.

So, in this week’s newsletter, I want to share a prompt, an ask, and an offer that all fall under the umbrella of community.

Before, we’ll dig into a deal from our sponsor, and after, a list of new hots jobs for you.

Community Reflection Prompts

As you explore these prompts, I encourage you to write down your thoughts. You’ll often find untapped opportunities right in front of you, and simple routes toward building a more meaningful community.

  1. Have I built a meaningful community to support my business?

  2. If not, what’s holding me back from finding the right people?

  3. Do I feel support from my community today?

  4. Have I been proactive in asking for the support I need?

  5. What’s the biggest barrier I face in asking for the support I need?

  6. Have I been giving to my community in return?

  7. How can my community help me right now?

  8. How can I help my community right now?

In running through this list on my own, I realized that I need to ask for more referrals for my consulting business. I’ll tap trusted contacts every once in a while, but very seldom do I open that ask up to my larger community — and that’s low-hanging fruit that could have a major impact on my success.

So, in the spirit of transparency and accountability, I’m actually going to ask YOU for a favor. Andrea and I have room for one more client starting this winter or early next year. All of our client work is bespoke, but we specialize in three types of projects:

  1. Helping early-stage tech companies get from 0-1 or 1-2 in their growth journey, setting the foundation for scale and building momentum with their go-to-market efforts.

  2. Entering into later-stage companies and conducting marketing audits to figure out what’s working and what isn’t, and helping them right the ship to meet their growth goals.

If you know anyone looking for either service, please refer us so we can chat. We deeply appreciate it.

And now, YOUR TURN.

How can we be helpful members of your community?

Is there anything we can do to support you? If something comes to mind, please email us and we’ll see what we can do.
